Fast, friendly, professional glasses repair. The temple snapped off the side of my glasses. Another shop said my glasses were unrepairable! (all they needed was a new temple).
I dropped off my glasses late Friday afternoon, and they were ready by Wednesday lunch. They'd matched my temple almost exactly!
Plus they were really friendly and made me promise to come back for more adjustments if needed.
I recommended Veo due for their expertise in fitting the right frames for your face and overall quality of all their work.
James and Jane are amazeballs. I remembered that James had experience in outfitting famous people and is still a style consultant to many (this is for the UsWeekly crowd... though I don't remember the names of the famous people, I'm sure there is some sort of NDA situation with this). They both really know how to fit the right frames to the right person. For me, James was able to explain why a lighter coloration in the back of certain frames would draw more attention to my eyes and lighten the complexion, whereas the blue-backed frames gave people the illusion of bags under their eyes (no-no).
They also have their own state-of-the-art lens machine as so they can guarantee the best lenses for your frames. This is not some cheap "$50 lens" job that most places offer by sending off to some jank lab.
Lastly, their selection is great. I think they somehow have special ties to some of these designers because they carry some very valuable and rare brands. Oliver Peoples, Paul Smith, and Robert Marc, for example, are selective on how many boutiques can carry their frames.
Back in the day, my vision was better than 20/20. Nowadays, I can barely see what's in front of me.
But not all is bad, I've always wanted to sport glasses and Veo has the geeky-chic look that I'm very much into. After eyeing the pair of black-rimmed Paul Smith glasses in their storefront, I finally stopped by on my way home.
Ray-Bans, Salt, Paul Smith--they got the brands, the look, the taste.
James and Jane were immediately at my disposal, helping me decide what pair best suited me.
"They both look good on you," said James. "Although the Paul Smiths are funky. And the Salt--sexy."
James, who originally hails from South Africa, has serious passion for his business. Although he's dabbled in a variety of enterprises, optometry and glasses are his true skill and love.
And it shows: outstanding customer service from his employees, a beautiful and unique selection of specs, and based on other reviews and my own experience, James has a knack for picking out the perfect pair.
I get a new pair of glasses about every 5 or six years, usually when i can no longer see out of the lens of my old spectacles. Been looking around SF for a few weeks now, when i had time and finally made my way into Veo. On my first visit I was helped by Jade who was super good for finding me a new pair. After asking me what I was looking for she went on a rampage grabbing for me frames that she though would work well on me. And she was pretty spot on with her selection, had good opinions about what styles and colors looked best and ultimately helped me narrow down my selection to an awesome frame. I needed a little while to think about my purchase so i returned to Veo a week later and was helped by James. He was also super helpful and super nice, energetic and gregarious. He agreed that the frame I picked out the week before fit me well and after I took a second look, I took out the MC and hopefully my new specs will be here in a few weeks.
The store has a great selection of frames and I like that they are not locked behind cabinets, so you can grab what you like and try them on anytime.
Simply the best buying experience ever.... I'm normally a really indecisive when it comes to shopping for things, but James made the whole experience easy and fun. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for new glasses or sun glasses
What amazed me was how James so effortlessly walked over and picked out the perfect set of frames for my friend's face.
I could tell James had a good time trying out other frames on my friend, but James has a good eye and a sure hand -- and my friend bought that first set of frames that James had so quickly, expertly, and accurately picked out at the outset.
Wow, James is back! This guy has got to be the best glasses stylist/salesman there is. I first met James years ago when he worked at SF Optics in the Marina, and he sold me a few pairs of really beautiful glasses and sunglasses over the course of a few years. All of the glasses fit me really well, and I got compliments on them frequently. The best part of the experience was that James would look at my face and then pick out a few great pairs from amongst the hundreds on display. And, inevitably, I would love one of them. I don't like shopping much, so it was really nice to have someone who could find me something so perfect. I sent my sister to him, and she also got a pair of glasses from him which she still loves 5 years later.
Unfortunately, James left SF Optics about 4 or 5 years ago, and I haven't bought a pair of glasses since. But, my sister walked past Veo recently and saw him in the new store at Church & Market. I was thrilled to hear that he was back in business, and so my wife & I went over to have some lenses replaced. I was happy to see that James remembered me after all these years, and just like in the past, he reached onto the shelf and picked out a pair of glasses that ended up looking great. I was only planning to buy new lenses, but I couldn't pass these up (and my wife totally agreed)!
All in all, if you want new glasses that fit great and look great, I highly recommend visiting James at Veo.
I predict that Veo Optics will be very successful! James and Jade are both very friendly, stylish, professional, and skilled at what they do. Their enthusiasm is evident and it is clear they like what they do. Their service is excellent.
I was totally amazed that from HUNDREDS of stylish frames James was able to select the perfect pair for me with only ONE attempt!! That's like looking for a needle in a haystack.....and actually finding it! The frames he chose were so perfect I wasn't even tempted to try on another pair.
James' ability is a true and rare talent! Usually I have to try on dozens of frames before finding the right ones. At Veo Optics I had only to try on one pair......mine. And they are more right than any other I've had before.
I went in to pick up my glasses today and everything worked out wonderfully. I have an especially bad prescription and expected them to take longer to get the lenses in, but it only took five business days. Absolutely awesome.
What a fabulous new business to take over this corner of Market and Church Streets. They're all about making sure you have the best experience when getting new glasses and/or sunglasses.
And with the addition of their beautiful dog Sapphire to greet you, they're all about customer service.
I recently ordered two sets of lenses from VEO (frames purchased elsewhere) and every part of the experience, from ordering to delivery and fitting has been effortless
Both James and Jade are a delight to work with; it's obvious that they both care very deeply that their clients get the best possible combination to meet their vision needs. I've returned several times for adjustments; always welcomed back.
Best of all; their lab produces the best quality lenses I have had in 20 years. Both sets of lenses are flawless, unlike those I've gotten from discounted eyeware vendors.
I have been and will continue to recommend this business to everyone I know.
